Mrs. Elise Fish

I've been teaching at Townsend Elementary since 1996. I studied at Spring Arbor University and graduated with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Elementary Education. I received a Master's in Art of Education from Spring Arbor University with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education in 2005. I've taught Basic Kindergarten through fourth grade, I  currently teach third grade. My passion has always been teaching children the joy of reading. I have also taught College Reading at Jackson College and Guidance and Discipline in Early Childhood Education at Spring Arbor University. My experience teaching college has given me a broader sense of the educational process. I know that an essential part of my job is to help students understand how to repair relationships. In my classroom I use Positive Discipline/Restorative Practices, we solve our problems with kindness and caring, helping students learn to understand others feelings by gaining empathy for them.
