I am the Cognitively Impaired Teacher at Townsend Elementary. I have also been a Resource Room Teacher in the Vandercook Lake schools. Prior to 1997, when I began teaching at Vandercook, my career began at the Torrent Center in Jackson Michigan.
In 1988 I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor's of Science in Education with endorsements in Mentally Impaired and in Physically or Otherwise Health Impaired. I did my graduate work both at Eastern Michigan University and at Spring Arbor University, where I attained my Masters in Special Education and my endorsement in Early Childhood Education, (respectively).
My goal as a teacher is to provide a challenging, enriching, and safe environment for my students. I believe in fostering a positive home - school relationship with parents. I feel very fortunate to work with children on a daily basis.
