Townsend Elementary School provides education and opportunity to grow for approximately 300 students in preschool through 5th grade. The building principal is Mrs. Traci LaDue. There are 14 classroom teachers, a vocal music teacher, physical education teacher, art teacher, 2 special education teachers, and 2 literacy coaches and 12 aides. Townsend also provides a Young 5's Kindergarten classroom, preschool classroom, a head start program, and before/after school childcare. Townsend also offers a daycare!

Our students are supported by the following professionals: a school social worker, school psychologist, speech and language therapist, special education social worker, an occupational and physical therapist, and 4 special education aides. Ensuring that Townsend Elementary runs smoothly, we also have 2 secretaries, 1 safety crossing guard, 4 kitchen workers, and 4 custodians.

We offer after school programing, Reaching Higher, as well as summer programs. We also promote healthy living by offering a variety of youth sports: competitive cheer, basketball, football, and softball/baseball!

Townsend Elementary is committed to the development of the whole child. We are intentional in supporting their educational, social and emotional growth/needs. We use the Positive Behavior Intervention System where we work collaboratively with students, families, staff and community members to support the whole child!
