Now that the weather is changing, please make sure your child comes to school everyday with proper winter gear: boots, snow pants, gloves, hats. Please label everything. We go outside for recess and brain breaks daily. The only time we stay in is if the ‘real feel’ is 0 degrees or below.
We have Santa’s Secret Shop this week. Your child can shop with their class for family presents.
There is a school board meeting on Wednesday at 5:30 in the HS library.
Just a reminder that our school doors do not open until 8:15 am daily. Please make sure to monitor your child during drop off in the morning.

Congratulations to our Middle School team! They took 4th place in their division and 5th place overall out of 23 teams at the Rockford Cheer Invitational.

Events for tonight (band concert/book fair) are canceled. We are rescheduling the concert for Thursday, Dec 19th at 7pm. Our book fair will be open tomorrow.
Vandercook Lake Public Schools will be closed today, Thursday, December 5th due to icy road conditions. The Career Center is also closed.

Vandercook Lake HS Student Council invites everyone to a Community Christmas Movie Night. It will be Saturday, December 14th in the MS Gym, 6:30p-8:30p. This is a free event, concessions will be available, see attached flier for more details!
The Music Booster meeting for Wednesday, 12/4/24, has been canceled. Our next booster meeting will be Wednesday, 1/8/25 at 6:30pm.
WINTER CONCERT EVENTS: This Thursday, December 5th, before the concert begins, there are a few events happening at the MS/HS! The Book Fair will be open 5:30-7, the Spirit Corner will also be open with a lot of new swag! The band boosters are selling concessions before the concert, and the Girl Scouts will be available to wrap books for Christmas presents! If you have any food or paper products you'd like to donate to the Food Pantry, or coats/hoodies/boots/hats/gloves to the Jayhawk Exchange, please bring them with you that night! Happy Holidays!
A huge shoutout to Mr and Mrs Walker and Mrs. Rink for volunteering at the MS/HS. Mrs Walker helped set up our Book Fair and Mr Walker is reupholstering the benches in our fitness center! Mrs. Rink is here every day at lunch and on Thur 5:30-7pm.Thank you all so very much!
Canned Food/Food Drive this Thursday 12/5 at the MS/HS. Please bring any canned food, non-perishable food, toilet paper, etc. to the Winter Concert! There will be a box for all donations. Please do not donate expired food. If you can't make it to the concert, donations are being taken at the MS/HS office until December 12th for this holiday season. Thank you all!
The Jayhawk Exchange is in need of winter clothes! We are looking for new or gently used jackets, hats, gloves and boots in teen- adult sizes, but all sizes are welcome! Clothing can be dropped off at the MS/HS office M-F between 7:30am-3:30pm. We appreciate all your support!
Mrs.Bradfield rode along on the afternoon bus routes with Miss Elizabeth and all the awesome students on bus #5 today! Which bus should she ride on next?
