Don't let those winter blues get to you. Work out for FREE at the Vandy High School Fitness Center. Thanks to local and federal grants, we've been able to add machines and staff our fitness center. We're open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8pm for our community members 18+.

Got pizza?? Everyone in Ms Simpson's 2nd grade class chose stuffed-crust pizza as their school-based lunch choice & then waited patiently for some good eats! YUMMMMM.

The district's critical infrastructure needs remain. We want to hear the voices of our community members for a second attempt. We are holding three open meetings to actively participate in the revision process of the next bond proposal. See the flier for dates, times, and location.

We want to thank everyone in our community who took the time to vote in the recent bond election. While the bond proposal did not pass, we appreciate the engagement, feedback, and support shown throughout this process.
We will take time to listen, learn, and consider next steps together. Our commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environment for every student remains unchanged.

The students in Ms. Simpson's 2nd grade class "wrapped up" a few Halloween activities that we didn't get to complete last Friday. The kids loved trying to catch a cookie in their mouth, one that was originally an "eye patch", without using their hands. They also loved the Mummy wrap!

Our Vandercook Lake senior students, all 18 and older, recently completed an essential civic education journey focused on voter registration. Their experience went beyond the classroom, as they traveled throughout Jackson and visited City Hall to navigate the practical steps of the democratic process. During this trip, they learned how to officially register and gained a crucial understanding of local government by determining their specific precinct and ward. The most impactful part of the day was having the valuable opportunity to actually cast a vote, providing them with a hands-on, real-world lesson in exercising their rights and responsibilities as newly eligible citizens. Go Jayhawks!
