Spring Arbor, Mich. — Spring Arbor University (SAU) is pleased to welcome Vandercook Lake Public Schools as the newest partner in the university’s Deep Roots Direct Admission Program. This initiative is designed to create a more direct and supportive pathway from high school to college, encouraging students to continue their education in a way that feels achievable and connected to their community.
Through the Deep Roots Direct Admission Program, Vandercook Lake High School seniors who meet Spring Arbor University’s admission standards will receive direct admission to SAU. The program allows students to move through the enrollment process with greater clarity and reduces traditional barriers while providing access to guidance, financial aid opportunities, and early engagement with the SAU campus community.
“We’re excited for the opportunity this presents for our students,” said Melissa Bradfield, Superintendent of Vandercook Lake Public Schools and 1997 graduate of Spring Arbor University. “This partnership with Spring Arbor University showcases our dedication to the future success of our students. This partnership not only simplifies the college admissions process and provides financial assistance to our graduates, but also reinforces our belief that every student should have access to a supportive community and an affordable education."
Dr. Brent Ellis, president of Spring Arbor University, said, “By partnering directly with schools like Vandercook Lake, we’re making it easier for students to take that next step with clarity, purpose, and support. Our goal is to walk alongside them and embrace them in the SAU community from the moment they start thinking about college. We want to ensure they are prepared to thrive academically, personally, and spiritually.”
The partnership with Vandercook Lake Public Schools marks another collaboration as Spring Arbor University continues to expand the Deep Roots Direct Admission Program throughout Jackson county.
Founded in 1873, Spring Arbor University is a Christian liberal arts university located in Spring Arbor, Michigan. SAU offers more than 60 majors and programs to traditional undergraduate students, as well as adult undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs - both in person and online.
