The holiday season is upon us. What better way to celebrate with family and frriends that at the 1st annual Vandercook Lake Community Christmas Parade starting at 6:00pm .Our marching band and cheer will be participating in the event. The theme this year is “Christmas Candyland. Santa Claus will also be present to welcome our community at the Fire Barn for visits and hot Coco with the kiddos. Prior to the parade, food truck vendors will be in the parking lot in front of Lions Clubhouse/Fire Barn.


Thanks to Amy Bradfield & Claire Herhold from the Michigan Historical Society for teaching the middle school & high school students in Mr. Kouba, Ms. Spaulding, & Mrs. Courtright's history classes about the 2025 Michigan History Day contest topic: Rights and Responsibilities.




Townsend Families: We are being blessed with boot donations. If your child is in need of winter boots, please email Ms. Stanley at jamie.stanley@vandyschools.org with child's name and their boot sizes. We will need boot orders in by Tuesday, Nov 26. Thank you so much!

The junior class visited Albion College, Spring Arbor University, and Jackson College this week. They saw first-hand what college life looks like- walking the campus with tour guides as well as exploring programs, majors, and a variety of career options.

Townsend 6th graders joined Mrs. Courtright's US History and Ms. Spaulding's World History classes today for guest speakers from Michigan History Day.




Come join the festivities and support our band and cheer programs at the 33rd Annual Downtown Christmas Parade this evening (Friday, November 22nd) at 6:00pm. The parade will include floats, costumes, marching bands and lots of fun. The parade will begin at Blackstone and Michigan Ave. Traveling down Michigan Ave. ending at Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Children can visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at the end of the parade at Flagstar Bank.


Congratulations to our middle school competitive cheer team and coaches Baird and Spaulding for earning 4th place (out of 11) tonight at the Homer Competition! Great job, Jayhawks!
