Students in Ms Simpson's 1st & 2nd grade classroom have had a fun & busy week! We finished our Fall NWEA reading & math assessments, earned a little bit of quiet computer time while others finished their assessments, enjoyed Grandparent's Day celebrations, and also worked in reading centers! I am very proud of their NWEA successes!

The Vandercook Lake High School junior varsity football team earned a 42-22 win at home against East Jackson Monday night. De'Shawn Roper was a key to the offense and Dallas Swaenepoel returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown on defense for the Jayhawks. Vandercook Lake is now 1-1 on the season.

Vandercook Lake 43, East Jackson 28: Vandercook Lake wins its first Cascades Conference varsity football game since Oct. 5, 2018. Leland Barton ran for 210 rushing yards and scored four touchdowns for the Jayhawks.

Vandercook Lake High School finished eighth as a team at the Springport Invitational D-2 race Wednesday. The Jayhawks were paced by Dallas Swaenepoel with a 10th place finish in 19 minutes, 36 seconds. David Arbogast finished 38th in 24:31 and Todd Adkins was 48th with a time of 31:02. The top 30 runners in each race earned medals at the event.
