Vandercook Lake High School finished eighth as a team at the Springport Invitational D-2 race Wednesday. The Jayhawks were paced by Dallas Swaenepoel with a 10th place finish in 19 minutes, 36 seconds. David Arbogast finished 38th in 24:31 and Todd Adkins was 48th with a time of 31:02. The top 30 runners in each race earned medals at the event.

Sand Creek 50, Vandercook Lake 0: Justin Barnes led Vandercook Lake defensively with double digit tackles. Leland Barton and Chris Jiminez led the Jayhawks on offense. "The positive that came out of this game is we never gave up and fought hard," Coach Dan Midena said.
