For Dental Hygiene Month, 2nd graders are reading "Doctor De Soto" by William Steig this week. It's a delightful story about a mouse dentist who decides to help a sneaky fox with a tooth ache. After reading, we sequenced pictures of the story and practiced retelling the story.



2nd graders in science this week are learning about the properties of matter. We focused on how different kinds materials of clothing help for different reasons. Their challenge was to make a hat that would protect them from the sun if they were stuck on a desert island.
