Today in Mrs. Johnson's 2nd grade class, the students worked during science with partners to develop ways to prevent erosion! They were incredibly creative, and we all had a blast! YAY SCIENCE!!!
8th grade US history travelled along the Oregon Trail today. They collaborated with their team to make decisions about purchasing supplies, which trail to take, how to cross rivers, & hunted for fresh food. About half of the teams made it to Oregon without dying from dysentery!

The College and Career Access Center (CCAC) is hosting the annual Kids2College/Pathway to Professional Skilled Trades (K2C/PPST) for our 8th grade class on Tuesday, March 12th. This is a great opportunity to get students thinking about their future. If you do not want your student to attend the field trip, please contact the front office.

Townsend Weekly Announcments: It is Parent Teacher Conferences week! If your teacher has not scheduled a time with you and you would like to have a conference, please contact your child’s teacher.
PTO meeting on Tuesday at 3:45 and again on Wednesday at 6pm. Hope you can make one of those meetings.
FInally, there is a ½ day on Friday with dismissal at 11:55.
From 8:15-8:30 am, the front entry is for bus students only. It is not for parent drop off/pick up. If your child is running late- then yes- please use the front entry. Please remember to use the back drop off/pick up areas for your child when you drive them to/from school.

What a kickoff we had at Townsend for March is Reading month! Mrs. Lewis showcased some amazing books coming soon to the library! For the finale, our Townsend kids sure GLOWED for a dance party! Townsend, LETS "GLOW" READ!!
A little Friday fun this afternoon- ice cream for 8th graders for highest attendance (thank you Frosty Boy!), floor hockey for middle school, and dodgeball for high school.
