Over the last week, Miss Hilling's Kindergarten class had fun with Thanksgiving activities. We made a thankfulness tree by writing things we are thankful for on paper leaves. The students also wrote "I am thankful for..." sentences and drew pictures to go with them. They enjoyed making making handprint turkeys. After reading, "Turkey Trouble", the students colored pictures of turkeys in disguise. And after reading, "Cranberry Thanksgiving", we made and ate cranberry bread together.

Mrs. Lackey's class watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. They made their favorite character balloons and had a parade of their own. They also created Turkey doughnuts.

Mrs. Johnson's 2nd graders learned about the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade! We listened to "Balloons Over Broadway", watched how the balloons are created, listened to Mrs. Albert and her experience with piloting a balloon for the parade, and did our own Parade of balloons! So FUN!

A big thank you to Jackson Auto for donating math/reading learning materials!

We gave away more home-made hats to our middle-schoolers today! Thank you, Kathy R!

A third grade team of artists worked together to create a replica of the Titanic in the art studio.

The MS/HS is placing a sweatshirt order for the Holiday season. If you are interested fill out this google form and drop off your money to the MS/HS by December 1st.

We work hard, play hard, and are thankful for our Vandy family. This week, MS/HS teachers participated in teacher-led professional development on Depth of Knowledge, enjoyed a feast for Friendsgiving, hunted for turkeys, and dominated the student/staff volleyball game! It's great to be a Jayhawk!
