Arrival: Beginning Thursday, August 21, to support student independence and ensure a smooth transition into the school day, we kindly ask that all parents say their goodbyes outside the school building. Thank you for helping us build confident and self-reliant learners. Our staff is 'all hands on deck' and guides students to either the cafeteria for breakfast OR the gym until teachers pick up their students.
Car line (arrival and dismissal): New this year! Families, please stay in your vehicles and please pull all the way forward where staff members will support students in and out of vehicles.
PTO meeting: Please consider attending our PTO meeting this evening at 6:00 in person at Townsend in room 621 OR virtually: https://meet.google.com/sfk-zieg-efz.
Volunteer Opportunities! We are looking for two breakfast and two lunch parent volunteers.
Breakfast: 8:15 - 8:45 a.m. and Lunch: 11:00 - 12:45 p.m.

Our seniors, the class of 2026, met this morning on the 1st day of school in front of the rock to watch the sunrise. Proud to be a Jayhawk!
Our Vandy staff are ready to welcome our Jayhawk students tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug 20th. It's a half day for students. Lunch is provided. Townsend 8:30-12. MS/HS 7:30-10:50.
Welcome back breakfast catered by KeniKakes in Vandy. Thank you for the donations for this special treat- Stowe Agency, Obtain Graphics, Direct Asphalt, and GLP. Great start to a great year!

Mark your calendars! The Vandercook Lake Lions Club is hosting their annual Ice Cream Social on Aug 24th from 2-5pm. Free!
Parents of bus riders- if your contact information is in PowerSchool, you should've received an email today from BusRight (check spam). See attached directions to download the app. FYI- The Transportation Dept is still working on routes. Routes will be able to be viewed by parents on Tuesday morning.
Huge shoutout to our maintenance and custodial crews for all their hard work this summer getting our schools ready for opening day. From replacing drinking fountains, hanging new smartboards, putting up facia and downspouts, installing basketball hoops, waxing floors, lining fields, and mowing. We appreciate all the hard work and sweat! Thank you! Vandy Pride!
